What I Want to be in Life
Life is about striving. Everyone wants to aim to own something that gives us purpose and happiness. I believe it is important to reflect from time to time about our individual life’s purpose. Every time I reflect, I see that I mature and I succeed more with my plans. Whenever I reflect what I want to be in life, I examine the present roles I have and think about my desires. This paper will serve as a guide for my future plans. It will help me figure out how I can strive for purposeful goals with the current responsibilities that I have. It will be a key to keep me motivated and achieve high success.
The first role I want to examine is one as a student. As a student, I am striving hard to excel in my academics. I am hoping to get impressive grades so that I will be respected by my professors and peers. I also know through academic excellence I will be able to gain connections with the career path I have chosen. I want to accomplish receiving a BSN or Bachelor’s degree in nursing. I want to use my knowledge to help people in need of critical care. I believe good health is a priority for everyone and I have the heart to help others maintain it. I plan to do this by not only getting good grades but also by studying for my licensure. I will aim to top the NCLEX-PN so that my mind will not be set to failure.
I am a strong believer of aiming for high goals rather than getting loss in my self-doubts.
The next role I will reflect on is a family member. I want to make my family proud of me. They support my studies and work so I hope to make them happy. I currently support my family in small ways. I assist them with the family business whenever I can. I find time to take care of nieces and nephews. I also like spending weekends with my siblings and cousins. In the future, I want to give my first salary as a nurse to my parents. I want to show them that I have appreciated their love for me. I believe by continuing my studies and duties at home I can keep my family happy. I know that this goal keeps me motivated and strengthens me whenever life gets complicated. Therefore, I should always keep my family in mind with everything that I do.
The third role I want to review is as a community member. I believe one important aspect in total success is that a person should also be loyal with his home environment. I find that the people I admire most are generally good citizens to their hometowns and country. I want to contribute more to my neighborhood by volunteering at our local hospital. It will not only help me gain experience for my nursing career but it will also make me become more prominent in addressing the community needs. I find that I can help my neighbors overcome the struggles they face in critical crisis and I want to begin my advocacy as soon as I can. I believe that being a good neighbor is essential to having a peaceful home and a more purposeful day.
There are several desires that I strive for in life. I can see now there are many steps I have to take to achieve success. I believe finding purpose and happiness may be hard. But I also believe by keeping my goals in mind and having good reflections on them success can be realized. I will always use this paper as a reminder of my ambitions to maintain my passions.
What do I want to do with my wild and precious life? I am only human with many moments to live in this life. In this world, one has many choices, options and decisions. Growing up one learns and embraces right from wrong, but one is never satisfied with what he has. As young adults, one reaches a point in where one is destined to find the path that will lead one to that wild and precious life we all pursue. I am now at that point. If I had one shot to this wild and precious life; I will be that one person with the spontaneous, free, unique and authentic spirit fulfilled with the knowledge to be my best and accomplish every single thing I want to make in this precious journey. I want to be the one to go out there and discover the cure for cancer or the next medicine to ease the pain of a dying patient. Have the comfort and mobility of doing whatever I wish to accomplish. Create the magic of having my own family while enjoying all of those little things this journey brings along with it. To serve my country, that has given me the freedom and opportunities that I could not get anywhere else.
As a young adult and human that I am, I have many plans, hopes and dreams for a future. As a student, all these narrows down to one thing, which is to be the best student I could be at the college of my choice. I constantly hear many of my peers complain about their colleges. Their excuses are “I was chosen by them, how dare to say no” I often respond “No. You chose them and by all of their means than they chose you.” Only one has the ability to pick and choose what they want for their future. I want to be the best student I can be and still be happy with my choice, therefore I choose Pacific Lutheran University. I am convinced that at PLU I will achieve the skills necessary to become successful in the field of my choice, Nursing. I want to grow to be passionate and successful in my field, as PLU alumni Marisa Villagracia is about hers. At PLU, Marisa found the skills necessary that led her to build her future. Like her, I wish to achieve the same. Living in the East Coast all my life with the hardship of becoming an adult at such a young age. Being a witness to a mother whose struggles was bigger than her own aspirations. I just want a different future for myself. I am the first one in my family to graduate from high school and who is trying her best to make it into college. Wanting to be educated and having the knowledge to help others are some of the best skills I could learn. At PLU I wish to earn and receive skills such as teamwork, collaborations and networking. These skills along with many others will be the key to becoming a great Registered Nurse.
After earning a BSN, I would like to have the opportunity of working and serving my country through any branch of the Armed Forces. I would love to help those soldiers who are overseas helping to protect our country. I would also love to have my own foundation in order to help teenagers from minority groups get into the college of their choice. As part of a minority group myself, I have experience and recognize the hardships of being a well rounded- individual while still acknowledging your roots and culture. I want to live the American Dream. I want to be successful because I want to have a successful future for myself. I want to prove to the world that with struggles, hardships, family or no family one could become great at something and accomplish everything they want in life.
